United Solar Ovonic, LLC with its headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan (USA), is the world’s largest manufacturer of triple junction amorphous silicon photovoltaic (PV) solar panels for converting sunlight into electricity. The company manufactures and markets flexible thin film, peel-and-stick solar laminates that can be integrated with roofs, and also supplies OEM laminates to major roofing manufacturers worldwide. The finished products are easily engineered into solar energy systems that can be installed on grid-connected buildings, and for other applications. The annual rated production capacity of the current manufacturing plant is 25 Megawatts (MW), which will produce enough solar modules to provide electricity to about 10,000 average homes per year.
